What's in my Iphone and my fave apps!

The funny thing when I got my iphone 5 was that I don’t have any idea on the specs of this phone. Not even the number of pixels of the camera, I tell you.

It’s only been 2 months but I’m starting to get bored with this phone. Why did I ever choose this over Samsung Galaxy S4? Well, simply because Samsung Galaxy S4 is way too large for my taste. Plus, Samsung has been putting out too many phones in short gaps, as if they’re selling pancakes! Nevertheless, Samsung Galaxy S4 specs is to die for. I just love how you can customize almost everything in it. >_<

It’s just too depressing but I guess I have to deal with it. Besides, there are also nice apps available in Apple store. In additional, I was a loyal user of Blackberry phones for years (Gemini and Torch), which I’m sure are “more boring” than Androids and Apple.

While browsing for nice application to customize my Apple, I found this “What’s in my Iphone” tag. It was a very useful tag, atleast for me. I was able to learn some cool apps. Now, I’m happier with my phone (somehow!).

Of course, I put my picture as my default locked screen. I love my makeup there, well, because I did my own makeover. hehe! Love your own, right?

Here’s the first page of my homescreen. Here I compiled all the applications that I mostly use, and even the people I texted most.

I love my application icons and the fact that I can make icons for contacts, thanks to Cocoppa! I love using this application, however, this will not “alter” your default icons but it will create new icons linking you to the application you choose. Yes, you still have to keep your default icons somewhere.

This is my other home screens. As you can see, I used the default icons since creating new icons for all applications can really be time-consuming.

Left: I love reading trivia apps and fun facts
Right: I don't like playing games. But I love to download games, in case, I have to take care of some kids. These applications will keep them well-behaved, believe me!

  1. I have same sentiments with the my iPhone 5 vs GS4 but the GS4 is way too big for me. I want something handy for a phone.

I though I already have a lot of applications but it is nothing compared to yours! Hahaha

  2. Here are some of my favorite iPhone apps that are without a doubt, some of the best out there.

AroundMe - This free app provides you with information related to the places closest to your location. Its categories include banks, bars, gas stations, pharmacies, supermarkets, hotels, restaurants and more. In addition you can type in the name of a place and the information pops up. AroundMe allows you to see the location on a map, call the location, view the route from your location and email the direction to someone. It is great for local and travel situations.

Gas Buddy - This is a free app and very handy to have especially in the current economic times. Not only can you find the closest gas stations but also the ones with the least expensive gas. Gas Buddy is handy for local use as well as if you are on a road trip.

Photogene - This is one of my very favorite apps and I used it on a recent trip to Italy to edit all my photos which I uploaded onto my blog and Facebook. I was able to crop to various dimensions, adjust color and size, change brightness, contrast, etc and even export the final image to Face book, Twitter, Dropbox, and Flickr and e-mail addresses. The app allows you to save to computer as well as always retaining the original image. It is totally worth the $1.99 price and there are so many more options that I cannot cover in this short review, but I recommend it highly.

Hurricane - This is an in-depth hurricane tracking app and well worth the $2.99 I paid for it. With up-to-date bulletins, tracking maps, radar, computer models, push notifications and more, this app kept me updated during the most recent Hurricane Irene.

Check Please Lite- is one of the handiest free apps which is useful when calculating the tip at a restaurant, and especially if you are dividing the bill. There are options to round up or down, to include the tip or not when rounding, and your choice of currency, making it useful overseas as well as in the US. Since it is free, you have to put up with some ads.
